I couldn’t stop smiling for most of the movie. Definitely worth your time and money if you can find a local theater showing it. Maybe the best Wes Anderson film yet.

I stopped and talked to a a sweetgrass basket weaver and seller named Trudy today near Waterfront Park. She told me about how her grandson is learning the craft from her (he made the roses you see in the vase at the bottom right) and how she’s also teaching classes for young children on how to weave. She also commented on how her little room off the park gets a lot less traffic than the City Market, but that it’s also easier for her because she doesn’t have to pack up all of her materials and products and move them at the end of the day. I ended up buying one of the rose bouquets she was selling to give to Heavenly. I’m very introverted, so it took a lot for me to go up and start talking to her, but I’m glad I did.
